Day 1: How did you discover Shinhwa?

Yes, I finally decided to do this challenge because I miss having a reason to talk about Shinhwa, I don’t have much people I could talk to about them. So, yep. grabbing this chance.

So, off to the challenge!

I officially discovered Shinhwa around 2003 during their promotions for Perfect Man. The song was a big hit and as a Korea culture enthusiast, there was no chance that I would not see this piece of news. It was everywhere. It was also the time that Shinhwa quit SM and had pursued individual activities because of the contract.

I listened to the song first and there was this part that I loved and I didn’t know whose voice it was back then. Then I turned to watch the MV and I distinctly remember seeing Hyesung on my screen and gasping because he looked like the exact guy that I would want to marry. Say the least, I fell in love with him by first sight. My sister said it was Andy because I pointed on the screen the moment that Hyesung’s face moved away and was replaced by Andy. For a few days, I believed it was Andy that I liked until I searched whose voice sang my favorite parts and voila, I found out that it was actually Hyesung and not Andy!

After finding out about the love of my life (I call Hyesung this), I decided to search about them more. To say that I fell in love with Shinhwa is an understatement because the moment I started liking them—they became a part of my life. Their talents, their personalities and their everything: they became my way of life.

I found out months later that I’ve seen them lots of times already from the music shows that I watch but never really paid attention to. I stalked off Youtube for everything that I could find about them.

Ever since then, Shinhwa had been a part of me.
